i have an all out prohibition on 'social networks.'

i think the proliferation of such systems does not speak well for humanity... life more and more seems to be lived in virtual worlds, which are 'safer,' more predictable, etc. it's very often the case that the real person behind a facebook profile or a myspace profile, is something MUCH different than what is being presented.

then again, i have enjoyed flipping through certain profiles from time to time but would rather see them not used in the business world, where i prefer real face-to-face exchanges.

I was a speaker at the Building Blocks conference and am convinced that social networks will only continue to increase and improve people's ability to both connect with others and "get their job done."

My company,, enables people to connect with others to take action on issues they are passionate about. It is the social networking aspect of it that makes it all possible. We connect people who otherwise would not have been able to even find each other, let alone join in a cause.

Our next stage is "Distributed Social Networking," (see, which enables people to connect with others across multiple social networks. This multiplies their reach and effectiveness.
