Priceless Picks from Patty DeDominic and Coach Eve Konstantine

Direct from Coach Eve:

I urge you to take a look at this workshop being offered by my friend, Sondra Barrett, July 8 - 10 in Petaluma, CA. She's a brilliant, warm and engaging person, who will help you to understand "the world in a grain of sand," i.e. the universe within each cell. There will also be a very unique wine tasting as part of the weekend. Read on, and be sure to click on the video link to hear about the material foundation for creating resonance within our systems.

Hope to see some of you there, and please share this with those who might enjoy!

Very warmly,

Eve Konstantine eve@evekonstantine.com
We are thrilled to announce that Eve is now a candidate on the Reality Based Certification, the RBC Network which is a standards based professional network of extraordinary people!

You and your cells are invited to join us at the NEXT

Cells and the Sacred workshop

at the beautiful Earthrise Retreat Center IONS.

When: July 8-10, 2011 from 6 p.m. Friday night until 1 p.m. on Sunday

Watch this short video to learn more

From this workshop you will take home

• A new sense of peace plus an energy practice or two

• Taste experiences of wine and wisdom

• Enhanced sensory and imagery skills

• Experience of your cells' intelligence as we explore the architecture of life

At one dinner we will have a fabulous wine experience with Pete Hoffman of Aum Cellars. If you know Pete’s work, influencing the taste of wine with intention and crystals - this will be a treat. And yes, I know I thought that only time changes wine and was a skeptic. Yet Pete and Jeff Dawson of Round Pond Estate have done a lot of 'out-there' work with wine worth knowing about. They both will be with us. Pete and I did an interesting experiment a few months ago and I captured the results with photographs through the microscope. Results here. If you follow the water crystal work of Emoto, wine is even more impressionable. Or maybe we are.

Writing Wriggles

This has been an amazing year since my last workshop at Earthrise when Sounds True contacted me to do a book about our cells. I finished writing the final chapter last week and have begun to work with my editor to fine tune and improve the manuscript. We must have it done by mid-August. Watch for the new book, working title, natch, Cells and the Sacred, out in 2012. I am honored to be working with Sounds True and if you visit their website you can explore a lot of transformative talks and writing

Websites evolve and as I blend my romance with wine and cells, there’s a new Get Started page where you can find links to blog posts about wine, cells and science.

Finally I have a new Facebook page - please LIKE me.

"Help, I'm pretty sure I won't survive the next layoffs"

Dear Career Coach Patty DeDominic,

I have been in this position for the past 12 years. There is a good chance our site is going to be closed the end of the summer. I thought I would start looking for a new job. Any tips from you would be greatly appreciated.

Signed,   Sue  (name changed to protect candidate confidentiality)

Dear  SUE
Please be proactive.

Employers have so many choices today. Some are tired and feel harassed, but I see the assertive early birds getting the better opportunities. Stay upbeat, don’t let depression about the job market get you down.   Make looking for a job become a job!

Some people make the most basic and avoidable mistake that snatch job opportunities away from them.
One guy  told his potential employer the job wasn’t quite good enough… can you believe he actually told the interviewer, he would accept an offer of employment but wondered how the employer would feel if he kept looking for another, better job while employed! How to shoot yourself in the foot, huh?

My blog for free career resources is Patty's Free Career Resources blog, resume and search tips

If you're serious about becoming an expert resume writer, consider the upcoming Resume Writing Academy certification program. Comprised of 8 classes that you attend via phone, computer or audio recording, you'll complete 6 homework assignments and an additional 3 resume/cover letter writing projects. We review every project individually and provide 1:1 feedback. Most important, we require that you earn an A or B on every project. If not, you'll need to rewrite to meet class standards.

If you're interested in RWA and all of the opportunities afforded to our graduates (publishing, writing, etc.), please visit the website to determine whether you're ready to make the commitment to the program. For more information: http://www.resumewritingacademy.com/rwa.php

One more thing ... If you're self-employed, consider the upcoming Entrepreneurial Elegance program that meets (via phone and computer) for 4 Mondays in June. Meet on Monday; make money by Friday. This is the next-generation version of the $100K Entrepreneurial Roundtable that Louise Kursmark and I used to teach in person. Entrepreneurial Elegance is just as intense and motivating; just much more affordable! For details: http://www.resumewritingacademy.com/elegance/

Passivity Kills Your Job Opportunities, Write Your Resume Right! by Patty DeDominic

Will being PUSHY help you?

Depends on the type of job you are going after.  IF you are a CAR Salesperson you might fit the stereotype.  One thing I know for sure, getting jobs in today's climate is not for  PASSIVE people.

Somewhere between "given up" and "in your face" is the right place for you to be with your JOB assertiveness skills and in your resume writing.

Your resume should be freshly updated and when possible, customized for the job your are applying to.

One employer told me recently that of four candidates that an employment firm lined up for him to interview, two had resumes geared towards other types of jobs and industries completely.  Needless to say, this left a poor impression on the employer and the people did not get called back for a second interview or get job offers.

Learn as much as you can about the job and the employer before you apply.    This isn't always possible but at least once you know who the company is you can do on-line and in-person research to demonstrate that you are really interested.   Employers know that if you are not very proactive in the interview process that you are likely to be less active while employed.  Who can afford to hire chair warmers and clock watchers now a days?

Be sure to follow up with thanks and your expressions of interest after that phone or personal interview.    You never know about the employers needs until you ask them. but you can make some educated guesses and you can assume that  many people don't follow up.
